Made from plastic with an additive which will considerably shorten the time taken to break down after use.
These so-called 'oxo-biodegradable' plastics are ideal for short-life products such as bags, which frequently find themselves discarded in the environment, where they can linger for decades or longer, causing hazards especially to wildlife and the food chain. In such situations, these bags will degrade much more quickly than conventional ones. In landfill situations, they will not behave very differently from normal plastics.
The bags are NOT compostable, but can be recycled along with other LDPE plastics where local arrangements allow.
